1. Long Question from the text

Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs, about 350 words, exact answer in the 1st paragraph (heat on the head), appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting…quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields, thesis statement, hook

2. Short Question from the text 5 marks -Right understanding of the question, three paragraphs, about 180 words, exact answer in the 1st paragraph ( heat on the head), appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting… quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields
3. Short Question from the text 3 marks( for Grade XII only) - Right understanding of the question, single paragraph, about 50-80 words, exact answer ( heat on the head), appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, appropriate explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting…
4. Essay writing 10 marks -Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs, about 350 words, exact answer in the 1st paragraph ( heat on the head), appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields, thesis statement, hook
5. Letter to the editor 10 marks - Right understanding of the question, date, address, salutation, subject (if necessary) in the right position, 3-4 paragraphs, about 250 words, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting…(never draw an envelope in formal letters)
6. Magazine article 10 marks Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs, about 350 words, exact answer in the 1st paragraph ( heat on the head), appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat handwriting, quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields, thesis statement, hook (not necessary to write in column)


7. Job application 10 marks Right understanding of the question, date, address, salutation, subject (if necessary) in the right position, 3-4 paragraphs, about 200 words, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, neat handwriting…
  • 1st paragraph-general information of the vacancy, your happiness, gratitude, which post you want to apply in short.
  • 2nd paragraph- your academic achievements, experience (employment to date), skills, interests, hobbies.etc in short.
  • 3rd paragraph-your confidence for the position, honest attitude, positive thinking for the institute, your assurance for the betterment of the organization
  • Last single line or two lines for positive hope and thanks. After that signature must be in between subscription(e.g.: Yours faithfully) and name 
8. Appropriate Curriculum Vitae: General information (name, address, date of birth, nationality, father/mother's name, marital status, language, contact details, phone number, email address,) Education/qualifications, Employment to date/experience, skills/interests, hobbies, awards, publications, Reference(at least two)

9. Informal letter(letter to the family members, friends, relatives) 10 marks -Right understanding of the question, date, address, salutation in the right position, 3-4 paragraphs, about 350 words, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, neat handwriting, quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields ,envelope in proper pattern with detailed postal address starting from name of the sender and receiver

10. Narration of a story/an incident/narrow escape/dream/unforgettable moment, picnic, visiting new place etc 10 marks - Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs( may be four ,three also), about 350 words, introduction in the 1st paragraph, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, neat hand writing and explain in detail why this is so memorable…

11. Movie review 10 marks -Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs, about 350 words, introduction in the 1st paragraph(movie name, director, main characters name, choreographer, singer, genre of the movie (e.g. thriller, comedy etc), theme, lesson etc. appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, then your likes/ dislikes in various elements. comments on weaknesses/good aspects, theme, setting, movie name, director, main characters, choreographer, singer etc, quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields, comparison of this movie with others, much more commentary rather than explanation

12. Developing an incomplete sentence to a paragraph… 5 marks Right understanding of the question, three paragraphs, about 200 words, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, examples, supporting details for the question, neat hand writing, follow the question whether it has asked you to start with that sentence or end with it…
13. Dialogue writing -Especially for grade XI only) 5 marks Right understanding of the question, about 14 pairs, question and answer….and vice versa, setting the scene/situation first and ending the scene at last, appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, neat hand writing

14. Grammar(special instructions) 5 marks • • deeply read the instructions given in each question
  • Fill in the blanks, choose the best answer- underline in answer and full question is to be written
  • strictly follow the example if it is given in the question paper
  • at least leave two to three lines after completing each number (e.g. Q.no 1, 2 or 3 etc but not necessary to leave line after a, b, c, etc)
Book review 10 marks Right understanding of the question, Five paragraphs, about 350 words, introduction in the 1st paragraph(book name, writer, main characters name, genre of the book (e.g. novel, autobiography etc), theme, lesson etc. appropriate grammar pattern, diverse vocabulary, detailed explanation, then your likes/ dislikes in various elements. comments on weaknesses/good aspects, theme, setting, book name, narrator , main characters, quotations, diverse phrases, poetic and personal unique styles of writing, examples from diverse fields, comparison of this book with others, much more commentary rather than explanation
